At Colton House, we aim to make your stay with us hassle-free, so please take a few minutes to read through our policies. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Except where otherwise agreed, we take card details to secure the room.
If a guest has to cancel one or more night’s stay with us (and for clarity moving, advancing or delaying a stay is considered as a cancellation) it is our aim to minimise the cost to them. If the room is re-let or 48 hours notice is given then there is no charge and any money paid is refunded. If less than 48 hours notice is given and we are unable to re-let the room, then 100% of any booking falling within the 48 hours from when notice is given will be charged. No matter when a cancellation is made we will always use our best endeavours to re-let the room.
Guests are advised to seek travel insurance to avoid potential loss due to unavoidable cancellations.
Colton House is not suitable for children; bookings are not accepted for anyone under 12 years of age.
Guests should aim to arrive after 4 pm. and leave before 10.00 am on the day of departure unless prior arrangements are made.
As you can imagine we may take a while to answer the door, coming down three flights of stairs can take slightly longer than in the average house. In addition as we are a small business we may well be doing other job such as cleaning, gardening etc. However, just ring the bell on the desk and one of us will soon be with you.
We are a non smoking establishment, smoking inside is against the law, this includes leaning out of the window whilst smoking. We would have to report a breach to the authorities. We would also charge 100% of the room rate for cleaning the room and may well ask you to leave there and then with out the possibility of a refund. Please note that we do not allow vapour devices anywhere in the building. Smokers, please us the back door and the cigarette bin that is behind the water butt on the patio.
Returning items left in rooms can keep us very busy. We will happily do this free of charge for guests who have booked directly with us. But otherwise we ask for postage and packing costs of £5.00 or more in other instances, which we hope would appear to be fair.
Whilst we know accidents happen, should any damage be caused that may require replacement, repair or servicing following your stay, the cost may be charged to you.
Our team certainly do not expect gratuities. We are proud to say that we pay all employees level with or higher than the national minimum wage. However if you feel you would like to reward exceptional service direct it would be much appreciated and will be shared amongst the team. We all sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay with us and choose to return again.
